Caden weighed 9 lbs. 9 oz. and measured 22 inches. 06 Terica (Prater) Dorsey is the 2024 recipient of Lycoming College’s Sankofa Award, which recognizes the undergraduate and professional achievements of black alumni. She served as the guest speaker at Lycoming’s Black Student Union’s Night of Black administration from Drexel University, Teri has been working in the higher education industry for more than 15 years. She is currently a senior academic advisor at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, where she has grown passionate about student engagement, particularly with students in online distance degree programs. Megan (Maiolo) Eppleman received the Phi Kappa Phi Literacy Grant for 2024. The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, announced part of the Society’s robust portfolio of award and grant programs, which currently gives $1.3 million each year to outstanding students and members through study abroad grants, graduate fellowships, funding for post baccalaureate development and member and chapter awards. Megan’s project, Handwriting Without Tears, is a formative literacy program for preschool children used to develop the skills needed for entering kindergarten. The St. James Lutheran Church Early Learning Center provides support to families, regardless of income, according to the PA Department of Education and PA early Learning Standards. The project provides the resources to teach phonics, handwriting, and motor skills in a fun way, creating a love of learning to start children’s educational careers. The winning literacy projects were selected for a grant based on a number of criteria, including the project’s scope, student and community involvement, impact, duration, and ability to achieve success. Megan previously received the Love of Learning Award in 2020. Excellence held on campus in the spring. Having earned her master’s degree in higher education its 2024 Literacy Grant recipients, with grants of up to $2,500 awarded to 13 Phi Kappa Phi members across the nation. This distinction celebrates a select group of advisors on ambitious growth trajectories who have achieved excellence in financial guidance. As America’s investing public looks ahead to continued macroeconomic uncertainty and market volatility, it is critical they have an experienced financial partner by their side to help them manage, preserve, and deploy their wealth. Jack also has been recognized in this year’s list of the Forbes/SHOOK Best-in-State Wealth Advisors for his track record of success in the financial services industry. He was recognized as the No. 52 advisor in Pennsylvania. He serves clients based in the Lehigh Valley, providing comprehensive wealth management services, including retirement, planning, estate planning, special needs planning, education planning, and tax planning. Jack was the featured lecturer for Lycoming’s James W. Harding Executive Speaker Series held March 25, 2024. In his talk, “Adversity Introduces You to Yourself,” he reflected on the challenges he has faced in the 40 years since graduating from Lycoming. She was honored to serve as grand marshal for the University’s 2023 graduation ceremonies. Her first retirement road trip was to Ithaca, N.Y., where she visited with her Lycoming roommate, Rev. Beckie Sweet ‘82, senior pastor at St. Paul’s UMC in Ithaca. She continues to spend Services agents in the nation.
