JOSH
Dweh ’ 20 Josh Dweh ’20 has always had a talent for making people laugh, even if not always at the most appropriate times. From class clown to performing on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, the business administration major is living his dream as a professional comedian. Dweh says that comedy has been a wild journey that he’s been embarking on since the age of 16, and when he looks back on this journey, the first thing that comes to mind is how full circle everything has been. “I remember not being able to get into the very clubs I’m headlining today due to me being under 21, or how some of the people I met early in my career have now become some of the biggest resources I have when it comes to keeping this dream alive. I’m extremely thankful, to say the least.” Today, Dweh is opening for industry greats including Franqi French
(HBO), Sean Finnerty (Tonight Show), Louis Katz (Comedy Central), and Tony Woods (BET), and he’s performing across the country in venues such as Zanies Comedy Club (Chicago), Nick’s Comedy Stop (Boston), The Comedy Store and Laugh Factory (both in Hollywood), as well as Gotham Comedy Club, The {legendary} Comic Strip, and Stand Up NY (all in New York City). He was the headliner for the 2022 Portland Maine Comedy Festival and a featured performer for the 2021 Sixth City Comedy Festival, and Dweh’s debut comedy album will drop later this summer. This kind of exposure has also provided him with a wealth of guidance. “When it comes to comedy, the best piece of advice that I ever heard was to always stay undeniable.” Dweh’s comedic repertoire ranges from honest takes on the life around him, childhood stories, and a bit of fun with the audience. “I want my audience to come to a show ready to laugh, but also for personal views and beliefs to be challenged — all in good fun!”
